I was my moms care giver for the last five years of her life. And I can’t help thinking about her every minute of the day. Granted she died about one and a half years ago,but I feel so guilty at times (could I have done more? why didn’t I stay longer when I said my last good byes to her.Sort of how its done in the movies. So here I am now starting over at age 56.I lost my job of 18 years, because of trying to do both things.I was flat out exhausted . The hospital where I was working said we can’t let you keep going like this.I have no problem with their decision they were absolutely correct.I think what bothers me is I’m still just as exhausted as I was when she was in my care. So where is my solace? Why can’t I get this out of my mind.I feel that one of these days I’m going to start bawling at work (not good). I have very few friends, I don’t celebrate any holidays Christmas,Thanksgiving,My birthday, forget about it I just keep to my self.I just don’t have the thirst for life any more. I haven’t had decent nights sleep for so long that I can’t remember. So what should I do check out? If anyone has any ideas please let me know.Honestly i feel like I”m on a life raft in the North Atlantic. Its winter, the ice is building on all sides of the raft and I strongly believe that I’m going going under.
